MORE THAN A TEST
From A&E to the Sea
In 2021-2022 Adam & Charlie, two Extreme Medicine doctors temporarily hung up their scrubs and took on both of the 'worlds toughest' rows in just a 7 month period; the first in the world to do so despite having never rowed before. In doing so they became the first married couple to successfully complete the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge and the first mixed pair in the world to attempt a circumnavigation of Great Britain.
They raced for 3126 miles across the Atlantic and 1774 miles around the coast of GB, battling gale force winds, heat waves, severe blisters, sleep deprived hallucinations & being stalked by a shark!

TALISKER WHISKY ATLANTIC CHALLENGE
La Gomera to Antigua

START: 12 / 12 / 2021
FINISH: 01 / 02 / 2022
DAYS AT SEA: 51 DAYS, 3 HOURS, 48 MINUTES
The Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge (TWAC for short) is a challenge like no other. It sees people from all across the globe come together to take on the race of a lifetime: crossing an ocean in a rowing boat. This 3,000 mile journey across the Atlantic ocean kicks off in La Gomera, Canary Island with the finish line in Antigua in the Caribbean.
AROUND GB ROW 2022
London to London

START: 22 / 05 / 2022
FINISH: 31 / 07 / 2022 (Scarborough Harbour, North Yorkshire)
DAYS AT SEA: 71 DAYS, 4 HOURS, 31 MINUTES
Around GB Row 2022 is a gruelling 2,000 mile challenge. This independent, unsupported circumnavigation saw us depart Tower Bridge London and finish in Scarborough Harbour, North Yorkshire, painfully having to retire with 89% complete due to time constraints following a summer of unprecedented weather conditions. This row is considered to be one of the toughest rowing challenges on the planet, with only two pairs teams ever having completed it; there had never been a mixed pairs team to attempt it.
